    Position description

    As an AI Engineer at Murphy Repos, you will turn practical business problems into production-ready AI systems. You will work across retrieval, orchestration, evaluation, and product integration so clients can use AI reliably inside daily workflows.

    What you will do

    • Design and build RAG pipelines, AI assistants, and agentic workflows for client products and internal operations.
    • Connect language models with APIs, databases, document stores, and business systems in a maintainable way.
    • Evaluate AI outputs, improve retrieval quality, and create guardrails for accuracy, safety, and cost control.
    • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teammates to ship AI features inside real web applications.
    • Document architecture decisions and hand over systems that clients and future engineers can understand.

    Requirements

    • Strong Python experience and comfort building production services or automation pipelines.
    • Hands-on experience with OpenAI or comparable model APIs, embeddings, retrieval workflows, and prompt design.
    • Practical understanding of vector databases, document chunking, ranking, and evaluation tradeoffs.
    • Ability to connect AI features to APIs, databases, and user-facing product flows.
    • Clear written communication and the discipline to explain assumptions, risks, and implementation choices.

    Nice to have

    • Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Vercel AI SDK, or similar orchestration tools.
    • Background in SaaS dashboards, internal tools, knowledge assistants, or workflow automation.
    • Familiarity with observability, model evaluation datasets, and cost monitoring.
